Statement
Hi, I'm Mary!
I am a completely self-taught artist living life on a farm in South West Virginia with my family:-)
I love art in many forms but painting is so special to me and color inspires me! I enjoy soft neutral tones but when I'm working on a canvas I can rarely resist any beautiful color and most of my paintings end up as lively and whimsical exhibits of color and I love that.
I paint in watercolors, acrylics and oils though I'll sometimes venture out to colored pencil, graphite and even pastel :-)
Flowers of all kinds are probably my very favorite painting subject though plein air landscapes and still lifes are amazingly fun too!
My favorite place to paint is everywhere! I'll paint out in the woods or down at the creek, in my kitchen or on the road. Virtually anywhere can inspire me to paint and I'm not too particular about where that is:-) I just love making art that brings beauty and color to people's lives!
